Dnepropetrovsk
Dnepropetrovsk - is the regional center, which has more than one million people. The city develops very quickly and on the background with new buildings, you can see better and better the oldest part of the city. There are a lot of attractions in the city - monuments to cultural figures, fountains, which has different decoration and a lot of bridges over the Dnepr river, cathedrals and museums, and of cause, the embankment, which has the length more than 23 kilometers, which makes it the longest embankment in Europe.
At first, the Dnepropetrovsk was called Yekaterinoslav. Soon after revolution (1918) – Sicheslav, and from 1926 – Dnepropetrovsk. “Dnepr” – for people.
Attractions:
Preobrazhenskii Cathedral (1830-1835). The construction began in the time of trip of Yekaterina II through South possessions. It has the high architectural and artistic value as the construction, where we can see traditions of Russian classic school in it’s blossom period. Restored in 1975.

The “Ukraina” hotel (1912), The building was built by the project of Kiev architect N.Fetisov. The part of the building was equipped for theatre. In 1917 the theatre “Palace” was placed here.
The historical museum (1903), 16 K.Marks prospect. The museum of antiquities of Yekaterinoslavska province was founded in 1849. In first, it was placed in one of the rooms of Potemkin Castle, later, by the initiative of Yekaterinoslavskii Scientific society the building of special building was began. The project was done by architect G.Panafutin in modern classic style. The old building of the museum has one floor.
The old part joined with the new 2-storey building, where the exposition placed, and of diorama "the Battle for Dnepr". There is the collection of Scythian women near the museum.
The Dnepropetrovsk music-dramatically T.Shevchenco theatre (1913), 5 Lenina street. The building was built as a theatre and concert hall for former English Club. It was reconstructed in 1978-79. Cartouches with figures "1838" è "1913» (dates of founded of the club and it’s 75-anniversary) were saved. The façade is decorated with a triptych sculpture, which reflect the stages of creative way of the theatre. The rounded corner crowned with the figure of the Muse.
