Tunisia
located in North Africa in the center of the Mediterranean basin. It land occupy costal plains, eastern part of Atlas mountain and north part of Sahara desert. The north and east proper of Tunisia is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered by Algeria to the west and Libya to the southeast. The terrain in the north is mountainous, which, moving south, gives way to a hot, dry central plain.
There are 3 huge areas: O-Tell, concurrent with north part, Central Tunisia consist of steppes located in plains and plateaus, and South Tunisia bordered with salt lakes in the north.
Tunisia landscapes serve as decoration for films Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
Climate
Tunisia has typical Mediterranean temperate climate. All year around there is a warm weather. The average temperature in December is +16, in July + 26. The winter is soft and the autumn is magnificent with its nature and fruits. The summer is dry and hot, but in June can be rainy. In August the temperature can raise above +45-50 C.

Currency
The unit of currency in Tunisia is the dinar, TD1 = 1,000 millimes. Notes in circulation are 5, 10, 20 and 30 dinars, and coins in circulation are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 millimes. Currency can be exchanged in banks or hotels. Exchange Rate Indicators: 1 US Dollar is equal to 1.25-1.30 Tunisian Dinar. Keep all the receipts for the currency exchange operations you make during your stay, as Upon departure of Tunisia one may re-exchange up to one third of the amount of Dinars (up to a maximum of 100 TND) initially purchased; however, receipts are required. The export of local currency is prohibited. Duty free shops except USD and Euro only.
Communications
You can make call from the hotel or to use public telephone Taxiphon Internationale which is much cheaper. Taxiphons accept 100 millime, 500 millime and one dinar coins. All public telephones in Tunisia can be used for international direct dialing. For international access it is need to dial 00 plus country code. Tunis country code -1. For international access inside Tunisia dial 0: Tunis area code 01, Bizerte, Nabeul and Hammamet-02, Sousse-03, Sfax-04, Gabes-05, Gafsa, Tozeur-06, Kairouan-07, Tabarka, Kef-08. Tunisia mobile communications is standard GSM and work almost everywhere.

Tunisia vary by type of business and season. Banks are usually open Monday through Friday, 08:00-11:00 from June to September .In other period Monday-Thursday 08:00-11:30 and 1400-17:00. During Ramadan if the holiday in winter the banks are open Monday through Saturday 0800-1500. Traveller's Cheques readily cashed in banks and the usual authorized establishments; the most convenient currencies are Euros or US Dollars.
There are ATMs in most towns and every tourist resort.
Credit cards (mainly MasterCard and Visa) are accepted in a few places in major resorts and towns. American Express and Diners Club are accepted in few places in tourist areas.
Shopping hours 9:00-12:00 and 15:00-19:00, in summer 8:00-12:00 and 16:00-20:00 except holidays and weekends. During Ramadan: 9:00-13:00 and 19:00-21:00 daily, some supermarkets work 24 hours a day.
Tunisian cuisine
Tunisian cuisine is closer to European than to Arabian cuisine.
The base of Tunisian cuisine is harissa. It's a pepper paste that is sure to add an extra kick to just about anything and it is widely use with almost all dishes.
Mechouia -it is a salad from frying peppers and tomatoes, tuna fish and, black olives and capers with olive oil.
Brik consists of triangular shaped pastry which is stuffed with tuna, herbs, and an egg and fried in oil.
Couscous is The Tunisian national dish. This dish is cooked differently in various parts of Tunisia. To cook this dish a special utensil called the couscousiere. Vegetables or meat are cooked in the lower part of the utensil while the grain is cooked in the upper part.
Tunisian meat dishes are typically made using beef, lamb, poultry, or fish.
In Tunisia, desserts are always enjoyed after a large meal. Not to mention that there is always a good selection of items from which to choose. Whether it is delicious Tunisian pastries, fresh fruits, or spiced coffees, desserts are something every Tunisian with a sweet tooth can enjoy!
Mint tea is extremely refreshing and absolutely wonderful a traditional drink.
Beer - Tunisia has only one brand of home-brewed beer – Celtia – which is produced on licence from Stella Artois and Lowenbrau
Taste white wine Muscat de Kelibia and red - Sidi Saad.
Also, it is worth to taste Boukha -fig infused brandy
